Presence

Winter's sun warms my back Sitting in chair becoming six legged At the edge… a melted snow meadow I am ameoba, worm, grasshopper, crab,,, A hard-on with fur…in heat Imbued with depth and diversity in wonder Before and after, in and out from my skull Primordial rays crossing time and space Radiance dissolving fences Across meadow past the barn over treetops Sailing above the ultramarine Coastal Range horizon Blending beyond birth and death Now… My warmed back contrasts with night and shadow Celestial motions…Sun star and Earth Moon and Venus Mayan witnessed… revealing presence… Eons made regular …gigantic clock mechanisms swing Turning arbitrary hands into understanding… Myriad calendars recording past, present, future Bringing nano-second atomic clarity hence and hither Rectilinear cyclic constructions launching astronauts Poets and pilgrims on paths …scattered micro- macro journeys Sundial warmth regulating trails through chaotic atmosphere in jungles… Revealing Fibanocci pattern in dandelion a daisy Depth and diversity of all before, immediate and beyond stir my heart At once…. I return to child knowing nowness… The warm wind caresses boyhood hair as I walk over gray turning green meadow In past summer a boy chewing long straw making way through high grass Pulled to the creek through sun lit insects darting in hatch. Sun charmed wondering touching giant gravity defying oak bark Ravens circle in mysterious chat, bolt and scatter from shadow Moving like the minute hand on a clock without hesitation I walk to pet the feral cat on the stump that was once a tree Stopping to hear the lion purr and roll on its back Thunder booms across mountain… rain melting snow into creek And like the rain I place my hand into the cool flowing stream Finding way through ultramarine mountains to the sea.
